BIO

Łukasz Dryżałowski

I’m a Warsaw-based Director of Photography, currently studying Cinematography at the National Film School in Łódź (2024–2029). I previously studied Digital Film Production at Ravensbourne University London and hold an engineering degree in Mechatronics from the Warsaw University of Technology.

My personal approach is to meet like-minded people to engage with in deeper conversations about cinema and image itself. For me, every project begins with a question: “what does this story feel like, what are we chasing?”
And from there it becomes a conversation with the director – together we shape the visual language of the film through space, movement, light and directing the talent. On set, I look for a shared rhythm with the director and the crew. The best work, in my experience, comes from trust, attention, and great preparation that makes space for exploration.

I spent my 20s traveling around the world, mostly in an old van with my friends. The furthest we reached was The Gambia in West Africa – around 6,500 kilometers by land. I took my camera with me wherever I went. This experience gave me a way of working that’s grounded in adapting quickly, connecting with different people and environments, and finding solutions with what’s available. Being on the road, across different cultures and conditions, taught me to stay open, practical, and resourceful – things I carry with me onto every set.

My path began with analog photography, after discovering my grandfather’s cameras. That early experience shaped the way I think about image-making – as something physical, intuitive, and closely tied to observation.

I’d say that today I’m looking for projects where collaboration is at the heart of the creative process.
When it comes to art-related projects, I’d love to hear that there’s something more there – something you truly live with.
